About This Event
On Saturday, May 19th, 2018, the Lisa Kaplan 5K Walk/Run and Kids’ Fun Run will be held in memory of Lisa Kaplan. Lisa was a beloved teacher, friend, colleague, and community member who passed away in November 2015 shortly after being diagnosed with a rare cancer. A Westborough native and a passionate teacher of Spanish in Northborough for twelve years, Lisa touched the lives of hundreds of students with her enthusiasm, energy and joy for her craft. This race honors Lisa and celebrates her love for running.

Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Lisa Kaplan Memorial Fund.
This fund supports the 15-40 Connection, a Westborough, MA based non-profit whose mission is to improve cancer survival rates by teaching people how to detect cancer early.

Course Information
The 5K race starts at 9:00 AM, and the Kids' Fun Run will start at 8:30am. Both will start just behind Melican Middle School. 

Along the 5K course, there will be music, water, photography, students, friends, family and fun signs. Free photos can be downloaded from the RaceWire website after the race. At the end of the race, water, fruit and snacks will be provided. 

The 5K course will be USATF Certified and Chip Timed by RaceWire.

The Kids' Fun run will be a lap around the field just behind Melican Middle School (approx. 1/3 mile).

Pre-registration can either be done online (preferred) or by a mail-in-registration form (on the back).
Pre-registration for the 5K is $25; children 14 and under $15 and $5 for the Kids' Fun Run.

Race day registration for the 5K is $30.00; children 14 and under $20.00 and $5 for the Kids' Fun Run.
Cash and checks will be accepted. Credit cards will NOT be accepted race day. 

Runners registered prior to May 6th are guaranteed a long sleeve race shirt.

Kids' Fun Run
The Kids' Fun Run, for kids 10 and under, will start at 8:30 in the field behind Melican Middle School. Participants will wear numbered bibs, run 1 lap around the marked field (approx. 1/3 mile) and receive a medal upon crossing the finish line.
